An interactive field guide · The Gathering, Wimberley
It begins with your people. The little things they love. The space to be themselves—and the moments that bring them back together.

01 · A little permission
Choose a thought, follow a photo, borrow one small idea. Then leave plenty of room for your gathering to become its own.
Make space for the moments you’ll share—and for each person to find their own rhythm.
Togetherness doesn’t mean every minute together.
Start with your peopleThink · 02
Before you think about what everyone will do, think about how you hope they’ll feel.
Tap a feeling and let it point you toward one simple moment.
Think about the ages, interests, energy levels, and rhythms in your group. Some will jump into the game. Some will be happiest watching with a good drink.
You don’t need everyone to enjoy everything. You want everyone to have something they can enjoy.
Keep wandering
Think · 03
Half the fun of a good trip can happen before anyone packs a bag.
01 / Your Gathering Playlist
The Gathering has a custom playlist. Listen to ours ↗
But what if you create your own? Ask everyone for a song or two. Play it during the trip and keep it afterward.
One day, a song may take you right back.
02 / Start the Countdown
Send an old family picture with a note:
“Five more days until these people are together again.”
That’s enough to get the stories started.
03 / Bring Something Along
A favorite snack. The game everyone knows. Something that already feels like your family.
Matching family T-shirts? If that’s your people, have fun with it.
Know your people. 😂
A little head start: Create a shared online photo album now, so everyone has a place to add their favorite moments later.
Find your anchorsThink · 04
Tap an anchor to see a little inspiration. Pick a few things to look forward to. These are anchors, not an itinerary. A shared meal, a little play, a reason to linger. Everything else gets to breathe.
Meals are often where the stories gather. Share the cooking, bring a favorite dish, or try one of Wimberley’s many restaurant options. Then everyone—including the one who brought the group together—can stay at the table a little longer.
The heart of it
Someone wanders off for a quiet coffee. Someone starts a game.
Somebody says, “Come sit with us.”
Discover · Follow your curiosity
Open what sounds like your people. Wander through the rest whenever you like.
Breathe · 01
Some occasions deserve a moment that feels as special as the people at the heart of it.
A milestone birthday, a long-awaited reunion, or simply a chance to celebrate being together. You can make one part of the stay feel extraordinary—and let the rest unfold naturally.
Ask about our concierge services to help arrange a special experience for your people. You can explore grocery delivery, pickleball lessons, or golf cart rental—little additions that make the stay easier or a little more fun.

Bring the ritual everyone already loves—or follow the unexpected thing that makes everyone laugh. The best traditions often begin without anyone announcing them.
Make first-night ice cream floats. Bring the waffle recipe everyone requests. Take the familiar game off the shelf after dinner.
Maybe someone suggests a Papa Hoos popcorn run, or the whole group lingers over stories and s’mores. If they ask to do it again next time, you may have found your tradition.
Leave room for nothing.
Because nothing is actually something.
Time to unwind, talk, laugh, watch the wildlife, or simply enjoy being in the same place. That time counts, too.
Good gatherers know how to plan.
Great ones also know when to stop.
Breathe · 03
Every group seems to have one (or two!).
The one who notices the small moments, remembers what someone said, and has a knack for capturing the smiles and pulling them all together so the memories live on.
Start a shared online album before you arrive and invite everyone to add a photo or a sentence. Create a photo book online—something everyone can open when they want to feel the weekend again.
Ask what everyone loved, what they’d do again, or simply: “Show of hands—who wants to come back?”
What will your people still be talking about a year from now?
Take that thought with you
